If you are a member of any neighborhood chat, you must have noticed the consistent request of community homeowners looking for courteous, competent, honest and reasonably priced help. 

"Even with a slew of large referral companies, homeowners are still in need of real help."

The truth is, the current referral service business model is not working for homeowners.  FixList was created to satisfy the gap between "Truly helping homeowners get good value for their dollar" and "Service providers getting a fair day's wage for a fair day's work."

Our structure is different - with our approach we typically visit your home, take pictures/videos, and get your real no-pressure budget to help you get competitive bid pricing. We visit the various new-build locations, speak to the workers directly, and work to get you before and after photos of verifiable work performed when available.

 Lead referral companies charge up to $85 for each lead they refer, often selling your information to (10 contractors) for that (1) job request.  However in reality, homeowners usually only interview (2 to 3) providers before making a decision... and if its a urgent repair, often just (1). This means that only (1 of the 10) contractors has success; and the other 90% of the leads fail. That said, if you need a carpenter, a plumber, and a cement professional, the cumulative effect is much higher prices for the consumer, not to mention you may end up answering over 30 calls/messages and met with contractors all week before your repairs have even started.

This is why contractors are often forced to charge many times the actual repair cost to cover the referral fees lead companies charge to relay your information...
Naturally, this causes many homeowners to defer maintenance and repair issues which end up jeopardizing their overall home value, equity, and net-worth calculation. In addition, service providers are frustrated having to pay 90% of the time, and we as consumers pay for their failed lead attempts and frustration.

In our model, we establish a complete yearly schedule for each homeowner so that contractors aren't jumping from job to job. Instead, they can realize the advantages of many jobs in the same neighborhood/community... becoming a trusted provider.
